It has been a couple of weeks and we are finally back to issue you a new round up of music! So sit back and enjoy this line up!
“Entertainment”
Phoenix – Bankrupt! (2013)
Last week the French rock band Phoenix released their fifth studio album to date, Bankrupt. Likely known for their most popular release Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which featured hit songs like ”1901” and “Lisztomania,” they are easily fixed to have another popular album this summer. If you haven’t heard of Phoenix, strive to make this album a hot choice for your summer. Not only should it bring out your inner child, it should make any situation better.
“Day Dreams”
Midi Matilda – Red Light District (2013)
The year old duo from San Francisco is easily a new group to spotlight. While their 6 song album, Red Light District, may be short, it will certainly leave you craving more. While they may not be extremely poppy or intense, their sound blends simply with many popular artists today.
“Hiding”
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. – Patterns EP (2013)
Turn off your engines and get ready to walk, because this band has no affiliation with the famed NASCAR racer. This indie-pop band from Detroit is a great new taste to enjoy in the thrills of summer. Their EP Patterns may not be a huge collection of their music, but it is certainly worth a listen. Even though they may not be a popular race car driver, this group is destined to take home the, or a, champion cup.
“We Come Running”
Youngblood Hawke – Wake Up (2013)
This new wave group from Los Angeles is hyped and ready for the summer sun! They have already played at SXSW this year and can be heard on SIRIUS as well. While they are a new and growing band reviews have stemmed from such media outlets as the LA Times and Billboard. Turn on your listening ears and settle down with “We Come Running” by Youngblood Hawke.
“Ocean’s Deep”
Born Ruffians – Birthmarks (2013)
The Canadian rock band is back with their fourth studio album Birthmarks. While not much is known yet about this albums recent release, the four person indie group has already seeded itself in the music community. Their popular single “Hummingbird” from their album Red, Yellow and Blue is a great song to catch up on if you haven’t heard Born Ruffians before. Regardless, we are excited for their new release and hope you take the time to listen to “Ocean’s Deep.”
We hope that you enjoyed this weeks music lineup. For anyone who wants, we have created a link to a Spotify playlist below.
